Visiting Assistant Professor of French at Davidson College and Director of the Self-Instructional Languages Program, Florin has earned his PhD in Medieval French Literature from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. His interests are centered around Medieval Studies, Queer Studies, Contemporary French cinema, and French language teaching (Secondary Language Acquisition). A Romanian native, Florin speaks several different languages and enjoys reading, art and nature, among many other things.
| Adjunct Assistant Professor of German Studies and Coordinator of the Self-Instructional Language Program at Vassar College. Lioba Gerhardi earned her PhD in Germanic Languages and Literatures and a Certificate in Film Studies at CUNY’s Graduate Center and teaches all levels of German language, literature, and film in Vassar’s German Studies department. In her research, as well as in her teaching, she is interested in the interplay of different forms of art and language, and the broader intertextual space that surrounds every artistic expression.
She coordinates Vassar’s Self-Instructional Language program, which offers American Sign Language, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Irish, Portuguese, Swahili, Swedish, Turkish, and Yiddish.
Assistant Professor of French at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama where she directs the Critical Languages Program which includes American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Swahili, Thai, Vietnamese. She also teaches various levels of French classes. Her areas of research include the contemporary literature, film, and culture of Quebec as well as literature in English, French and Spanish from the Caribbean including the Haitian diaspora.

|Kosinski, Maria||Past President University of Miami|
|Director and founder of DILS, University of Miami. She also established and was the director of DILS, and director of French at Yale University. She taught French at Yale University and Wesleyan University. She speaks Hungarian, German, French and English. Interests: life-long commitment to promoting the study of languages and corresponding cultures; to language competence that encourages intercultural understanding and adaptability to new environments; that can facilitate insights into other ways of thinking.|
Director of the UA Critical Languages Center, has been teaching Japanese on satellite TV/video as well as in the classroom (Advanced level and Japanese Literature) for 30 years while researching the educational use of technology.
