Along with the development of communication technology and complicated ongoing of the current world, understanding people in different culture is crucial for our lives in diversity. Many universities in the USA only offer major foreign languages or traditionally established language courses, but have difficulty offering less commonly taught languages partly due to the financial obstacle. 
NASILP (National Association of Self-Instructional Language Programs) has been helping many institutions to establish a language course without much financial burden of hiring a professor.
